Our mission is to help people decide how to cast their vote.

Voters are exposed to so much spin and there is so little substantive discussion in the media, it's hard to know where the candidates really stand.

We highlight the major issues in which the parties substantially differ. We provide a description of each issue and a summary of each party's position. There are also links to official party platforms and other informative sites so you can do more research on your own.

Here's how it works:

You simply click to indicate your position on major issues in our multiple choice survey and assign a level of importance for each. It takes just a few minutes.

We will show you which leader and party are more likely to implement policies and programs that best reflect your position.

DiM employs a very simple mechanism for scoring the survey - one that is clear and uncomplicated so that you can feel confident in the results.

For each issue we review the positions of the current candidate and the historical position of that candidate's party, to determine how he or she is likely to deal with this issue once elected. In many cases, the position you select might be more (right or left) than any party's current platform. In that case, we have awarded that issue to the party whose platforms and historical positions have been closest to your selection. With each issue, we assigned your selection to either the Democrats or Republicans based on the best available information.

In addition, you assign a level of importance to each issue - we then multiply the score for each issue by the importance assigned it, tally the points and indicate which party/candidate earned the highest number.

Whoever wins should get your vote.
